Francisco Loayza’s disciplined and hardworking nature combined with his ability absorb a deep grasp of several areas of law and industries have allowed him to gain the trust and admiration of employers all over San Diego county.
Clients count on Francisco for his thorough understanding of, and insights to, complex business and employment matters. They view his approach as “proactive” and “business-oriented”, and his service, “above and beyond”.
Francisco is originally from the Central Valley of California. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley. Following his undergrad studies, he worked at the State Capitol for over a year prior to entering law school. While working at the Capitol, he was able to gain valuable firsthand experience and knowledge of the bicameral state legislature.
Francisco graduated from California Western School of Law and earned his Juris Doctor with a concentration in Business Law. During law school, he was the Editor-in-Chief of Law Review and interned for the Department of Business Oversight for the State of California. His law review article, “The Remote Tippee Dilemma: Resolving Tippee Liability More Than Thirty Years After Dirks v. SEC” secured his induction into the National Order of Scribes for “Outstanding Legal Writing.”
THE ROAD TO BECOMING A WELL-ROUNDED ATTORNEY
Francisco is experienced in complex construction litigation as well as administrative enforcement pertaining securities and franchises. Prior to joining the Watkins Firm, Francisco was involved in defending engineers and architects in high-exposure litigation in both State and Federal courts against claims of, among other things: breach contract, indemnity, negligence, intentional misrepresentation, conversion, and breach of fiduciary duty. Accordingly, he is well-versed in topics ranging from delay damages to disgorgement of all compensation paid to unlicensed contractors.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
When Francisco is not advocating for his business and real estate clients, he can be found enjoying some leisure time on the tennis courts. He is a true leader and captained a USTA 4.5 men’s team that advanced to the Southern California sections. While they might have been defeated in the semifinals, it was still an admirable achievement because it means he was part of one of the four best teams in all of Southern California and top 8 in the State of California.
WHAT CLIENTS THINK
“I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that Francisco is such an asset to your company! He was extremely professional, helpful but most of all he KNOWS HIS STUFF. He is well informed in his profession and he came into my life when I honestly did know what I was going to do and was going down a road of financial devastation. He listened to me, gave me his best advice, was very straightforward and did not pressure me in any way. He told me my options and was incredibly helpful. I was in a one-year battle with my contractor and had run out of money and options. He was a life saver and was able to help me and win my case for me. I want you to know that he is truly one of a kind!”
