2020 presented the local, national and international business community with the greatest common challenge in our lifetimes – COVID-19. The pandemic has disrupted international supply chains, travel, employment, the availability of resources as well as the health and vitality of San Diego and people around the world.
The losses of this year in terms of lives and medical challenges cannot be overstated.
Yet in this most challenging of catastrophic afflictions, we have witnessed creativity, ingenuity, perseverance, and community support for small business like never before. Even as we finish this year at the peak of the pandemic and with our medical facilities over-burdened to the point of breaking, the people of San Diego and Southern California continue to support their local businesses, the community and each other.
We are always grateful for the trust our clients place in the Watkins Firm. We have enjoyed business relationships which have lasted for decades. This year, we met many new clients for the first time as they grappled with the challenges of 2020.
San Diego and Southern California businesses have adapted. The bright hope of vaccination and a reduction in the illness and losses of COVID-19 are in sight. The old cliché “in the darkest hour, there is a light of hope…” has never been more true.

While 2020 has been perhaps the most challenging year to be in business or the healthcare industry in our lives, it has also brought new lessons which strengthen our resolve and hope for the future.
