San Diego contract law attorneys know that it isn’t just major corporations and manufacturers that take each other to court over alleged breach of contract. Movie stars and the manufacturers of their custom-fitted trailers can find themselves at odds over contract law as well. The news is out that “Twighlight” star Taylor Lautner is suing a Southern California recreational vehicle dealer because Lautner says the dealer failed to deliver a trailer he was going to use while filming a movie.

Lautner’s lawsuit alleges fraud as well as breach of contract. He states in his complaint that McMahon’s RV did not deliver a properly outfitted $300,000 2006 Affinity Country Coach RV on time.

The papers filed with the court say that Lautner’s father…

Dan made the deal in May for the RV. There were improvements to the RV that were to be made by June 21. Lautner was going to begin filming a new movie at that time and would need it by then. It is unknown exactly what the improvements were supposed to be.

The producers of Lautner’s film (“Abduction”) were going to pay his company $3,000 a week in lieu of providing a trailer. But then the RV Lautner ordered did not arrive in the proper condition.

The complaint states that: “McMahons failed to timely complete the contracted-for-improvements for the Subject RV and further, failed to deliver the Subject RV to SKE in a safe and operative condition as scheduled on June 21, 2010. In fact, when McMahon ultimately delivered the RV, same had multiple safety related problems”

It goes on to say: “SKE and Taylor Lautner were deprived of the use of and occupancy of the Subject RV, which was preferred to any rented substitute RV resulting in displeasure, annoyance and emotional distress of Taylor Lautner.”

Lautner is seeking unspecified punitive damages, and attorney’s fees.
