Will Water Restrictions Restrict Business Profits in San Diego?

A recent survey released by the San Diego Chamber of Commerce shows that 15% of San Diego small business owners believe water restrictions will reduce local business profits.  Of the 203 members of the Chamber who responded to the survey, over 9% believe the water restrictions will lead to layoffs.  Water is a primary ingredient in several central business markets such as craft beer breweries and biotech companies.

The survey also brought some good news to small business owners who shared a bright outlook for the rest of 2015.  The business outlook index which is measured monthly remains positive at 26.6 compared to 18.5 last July when minimum wage rates were raised.  These local statistics seem to support recent data released by the State of California’s taxation agencies and reported revenues for 2014.
